What did everybody else think of this tear-jerker episode?

Personally, I thought it was the best of this season. It really solidified the fact that Matt Saracen is the best character in television right now. He has so much character depth, yet it never is forced, and everything he does seems so natural. Here in this episode we are shown some different sides of him, but they all make sense in context. Brilliant writing, really.

Also, some good music choices in this one. I thought "Driveway" by Great Northern was the perfect song to use during the funeral processions. FNL the movie did a perfect job with its music, and I'm glad the show has great tunes, too.
Hey guys - so I promised to post more of episodes of this documentary as they came out, and while I haven't had the time to get all of them, I did capture the final episode they aired before the two rival teams finally squared off. You can catch the whole episode here, but for now I'll just post part 1, which showcases some of the graduating players who are going on to college. Once again, they also used the song "Enchanted Hill" by The Album Leaf, which is a very Explosions in the Sky-esque epic tune that is perfect as the backdrop to football. Enjoy!

Anybody else hear ever see the show Head to Head? It's a documentary series following two rival high school football teams in Mississippi, very Friday Night Lights-esque. Unless you live in the area you can only watch the episodes online, (and for some dumb reason on cell phone company's site) but I was able to extract the video and put it up so you don't have to go thru their website... http://displacedbrett.wordpress.com/2009/09/12/are-you-ready-for-some- football/

The coaches of both the teams are pretty fascinating guys, and it has surprisingly high production values for being kind of an obscure little docu-series. They were smart enough to obviously copy some ideas from Friday Night Lights - it's set in small, southern towns where high school football is god, they focus on very charismatic coaches, and they even use music that's very similar to Explosions in the Sky....check out the song “Enchanted Hill” by The Album Leaf (starts at the beginning of Part 2 in the video link above, or the embedded video below)...gave me goose bumps.

Anybody else into this at all?
